"Dolorosa" is a small sized painting on canvas. The image takes the 7 swords piercing the heart symbol from Mater Dolorosa , but instead of a sorrowful face the woman painted is serene, at peace, not bothered by pain. She caresses and holds gently her bleeding heart because she understands that pain is unavoidable and part of human life (that blooms on the golden background behind her). The painting sends an optimistic message that no matter the sorrow one can live a beautiful life.
